MARINE CARGO INSURANCE
CLAUSE ‘A’ – ALL RISKS
This covers “all risks” (range of contingencies including breakages, damages, shortages, etc) of loss of or damage to the subject-matter insured subject to the specified exclusions.
This provides the widest cover possible for marine cargo.
CLAUSE ‘B’
This type of cover is not as wide as clause A, it only provides cover for loss or damage to the inured property as a result of the following:
- Fire and explosion
- Total loss of package, overboard or during loading or unloading
- Jettison or washing overboard
- Loss incurred to prevent a foreseeable severe loss on the high sea
- Stranding, grounding and shrinking of conveying vessel
- Discharge at the port of distress
- Overturning or derailment of land conveyance
- Earthquake, volcano, lightning
- Entry of sea, lake or river water into vessel, craft, hold, conveyance, container.
- General average
CLAUSE ‘C’
This covers only the following risks:
- Fire and explosion
- Stranding, grounding and sinking of conveying vessel
- Overturning or derailment of land conveyances
- General average sacrifice
- Jettison
- Collision or contact of vessel with any external object than water
- Discharge at the port of distress
MARINE HULL INSURANCE
This provides cover for loss or damage to the insured property as a result of the following:
- Fire and explosion
- Perils of the seas, rivers, lakes, or other navigational waters
- Piracy
- Negligence of masters, officers, crew or pilot
- Bursting of boilers, breakage of shafts or any latent defect in the machinery or hull.
- Any other perils as contained in the policy
AVIATION
This policy provides cover for aircrafts including aviation spares against Hull “all risks”, Hull War Risks and third party legal liability, passenger legal liability as well as baggage, cargo or mail liability.
Please note that personal accident cover may also be purchased for crewmembers. We will however require technical details of the aircraft and limit of liability to give a competitive quote.
